Gochujang Honey Butter Board

  • Total Time: 10 mins

Description

With honey gochujang butter, it transforms your plain-tasting butter to something that’s awesome on its own! A little spicy, a little sweet, and a whole lot of umami. Paired with delicious and eye catching toppings, this is a dish made to impress!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 227g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 tsp Gochujang
  • 3 tsp honey
  • 2 figs
  • 3 pcs walnut, roughly chopped
  • 1 sprig of thyme
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
  • sprinkle of salt for tomatoes
  • 5 sprig of basil leaves
  • 45g fetta cheese
  • 2 tbsp honey or olive oil for drizzling
  • 1 baguette, sliced

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, honey and gochujang in a food processor or blender for a few seconds until the colour is uniform.
  2. Scoop a dollop of butter with a teaspoon, place it on board and shape it by smearing it around. Smear at most half the dollop, and that’ll help maintain the height and texture of the butter base. Continue building the butter board until the board is filled.
  3. Add desired toppings and finish off with a drizzle of honey or olive oil, dependent on your choice of sweet or savoury toppings!

Notes

  • This is really not much of an instruction, except to ask you to mix and assemble. But this is exactly why this dish is so popular, and you should include it in your holiday repertoire!
  • Healthier alternatives to butter would be hummus, ricotta or cottage cheese
